Gem and Clay was hired to bring soul to this Connecticut family’s holiday home, nestled in the woods of Northeast Ohio where the clients are from and where their extended family still live. This custom modern cabin had beautiful bones, but needed textiles and wallcoverings, furniture, decor and accents to warm the space up and reflect the family’s lifestyle. The kids spaces had to be engaging and fun, each holding a different experience as they move through the spaces.

We designed custom window treatments for all rooms, selected paint and wallcoverings, and worked with existing furnishings as well as sourcing new furnishings to bring the spaces to completion. We played with pattern and distinct color schemes in each room, from the nursery with its saturated, story-filled wallpaper, to the folk-inspired yet muted playroom wallpaper, to the midnight menagerie in the twin bedroom. We brought in pattern and color in the bunk room through textiles and carefully selected colors. The result is a layered, engaging and playful collection of rooms to inspire little minds and to give mom and dad a break!
