Design Refresh: A DIY Design Plan...and Then Some

Our Design Refresh service works like an à la carte design package with a twist.

First, we develop a design plan for your unique space, based on only the services you need. Then, you take that plan and execute the DIY components on your own, at your own pace. But we don’t leave you hanging. Once all of your new furnishings have arrived and the design elements are in place, we will come back for a styling day, where we help you place everything and style the room like a pro!

The components of your design plan could include a mix of any of the following:

  • This service is for those who need only cosmetic work and furnishings for a room or area of their home, but want a designer’s expertise during the planning and that high-end consulting at the end. This service is not available for remodels or new construction projects.

    Here’s how it works:

    1. The initial phone call.

    It all starts with a phone call to talk about your project. We will work with you to determine which components of design you will need in your plan and we will build a proposal for you based on the scope of work. If everything looks great on the proposal, we do our sign-off and schedule the first meeting – your in-home consultation. The fee for this design refresh service is a flat fee, due in full up front.

    2. We do the in-home consultation

    We will send you a detailed questionnaire that we ask you to fill out to the best of your ability before our meeting. On our appointed day, we meet in your home to talk through your questionnaire, we do a walk-through of the space you want designed, and we take all relevant measurements. This meeting can last up to three hours and we will leave equipped with all of the information needed to create a design plan for you.

    3. We plan and present the design to you

    After our in-home consultation, we go back to the studio and get to designing! We will create a design plan with all of the components you need to execute it yourself. We will then schedule a virtual meeting to present our plan and gather any feedback. The length of this step can vary based on the size of your space and our project pipeline, but we typically like to schedule our presentation 2-3 weeks after the in-home consultation.

    4. We make sure you love it, and we deliver the roadmap to you!

    After the presentation meeting, we take all feedback into account, tweak the design accordingly, and deliver the digital design plan to you.

    5. Professional styling

    The final step is the part that makes this service unique. Once furniture has been delivered, walls have been painted, window treatments have been installed, and everything in the plan has been executed, we schedule your styling day. This is where we come back and help you place everything where it should go. We style the space with the new items you bought along with those meaningful items you already have, breathing new life into the space and making it feel truly complete.
