PROJECT BRIEF
Gem and Clay was involved in this luxury new build from the ground-up. Our goal was to develop a fully custom design for a couple’s forever home. When it came to the lower level, we wanted to bring a global edge to the space, feeling a bit more contemporary than the upstairs rooms, yet having threads of continuity through the millwork, cabinetry, and color story. An unexpected combination of deep reds and sky blues are reminiscent of our client’s past, living in Nigeria and the detailing on the wine cellar cabinetry subtly mimics the waves of the ocean that one can see beyond the red roofs sprinkled across the Lagos cityscape.

For a family who has traveled all over the globe, this classic home has become a one-of-a-kind homage to the couple’s many life stories and a vessel for many new memories to be made.
